The NVvR strives for the following seven aims:

  3. The NVvR dedicates itself to sound and sufficient (public) information on the administration of justice in the Netherlands:
  4. The NVvR studies, from an academic point of view, issues that concern the administration of justice in the Netherlands as well as abroad;
  5. The NVvR represents the Dutch judiciary, and its (sub)divisions, in contacts with the government and in international contacts;
  6. The NVvR promotes the idealistic and materialistic interests of its members;
  7. The NVvR promotes the contacts between its members and the contacts with sister organisations abroad.

Activities

The main activities of the NVvR include:

  1. the promotion of the conditions of employment and legal status (i.e. as employees) of its members. This task is institutionalized in regular official negotiations with the minister of Justice, which take place at least five times per year;
  2. the (academic) advising on issues concerning the organisation and quality of the administration of justice.

Beside these two activities, the NVvR supports sister organisations abroad who are striving for the administration of justice, based on democratic principles, in their own country.

The NVvR is a member of the IAJ, the International Association of Judges.
